Crain & Schooley – A Brokerage that Gives Back to the Community! Crain & Schooley Insurance Brokers firmly believes in giving back to the communities that have helped to make them successful. Just recently Crain & Schooley completed a 5 year commitment to their local hospitals by contributing $27,500 in total to four local hospitals. In 2008 they started a 5 year commitment to the Perth and District Collegiate Institute (PDCI) where they will donate $5,000 per year for the redevelopment of their athletic field in honour of their three 2008 Olympian's Sultana Frizell (hammer throw), Nick Tritton (judo), and Mike Brown (swimming) all of whom graduated from PDCI. They are also very active in helping their community groups access funds from their insurance company partners. In 2008 they aided Big Brother Big Sisters in partnering with Intact Insurance (formerly ING) to obtain a grant of $5,000 towards their new Go Girls program. They also nominate local charities to apply for funding from the Gore Mutual Foundation each year. In 2007 they matched Gore's donation of $2,000 to the North Grenville Accessible Transportation to provide that organization with a total of $4,000. They also hold "Denim Days" once a month where staff pays a minimum of $2.00 to wear jeans to work; the money is then donated to various charities - many of whom are clients. The list of their generosity goes on and on, but it is clear from the initiatives outlined above that Crain & Schooley knows the importance of giving back to the community. This is also prevalent in part of their mission statement which states: "Continue to be a financially strong and contributing corporate citizen." When asked about their involvement in the community, Megan Schooley, President of Crain & Schooley Insurance Brokers Ltd., was quoted as saying "My grandfather and father have always preached those values, and we are carrying those values forward with the next generation of management at Crain & Schooley."
